The overbearing Editor and Chief, Jonah Jamison, wants the story but his reporters are out on the beat, possibly trapped, and as he puts it cold, hungry, in danger, but most importantly NOT GETTING ANY PICTURES!!! He employs you, Scoop Team 1, to help him out and rescue the reporters, but more importantly GET THOSE PICTURES!! When you get to the Daily Bugle garage and pick up your anti-radiation goggles, you are presented with a very entertaining and funny video of how to board the Scoops.

Here is where the action begins.
It’s nighttime, distant sirens can be heard over the rush of a passing train. You board your scoop and head out to get the story in your roving news vehicle. You round a bend and enter the streets of New York. The buildings are real with great depth and detail. You see a Spiderman shadow swing by you and then you see the Spidey Signal scanning across the buildings, this must mean trouble.

You round another bend and see Spiderman on a fire escape, the fire escape is real or is it? Spidey is 3D or is he? All of a sudden he jumps and lands on the hood of your vehicle with a thud and a shutter. He is right there, 1 foot in front of you and says "Hey, you shouldn’t be out here!, with Doctor Octopus on the loose this could be the most dangerous night of my life, and yours! Be careful!".He spins a web and leaps off into the distance. You round another bend and nearly miss an oncoming real garbage truck that almost slams into you and dumps its heavy trash bin right into your lap. While trying to avoid this you crash though a set of doors (I love this effect you feel like you will blow the doors off the hinges) and burst into Doctor Octopus’s layer.

  You come up behind Hob Goblin unnoticed and then he blasts into the distance leaving a trail of smoke. You can see parts of the Statue of Liberty being mishandled by the Sinister Syndicate, and all of a sudden you are noticed by Electro, who says" What was that!?!" You make a narrow escape but not for long.

Electro follows you and you get stopped in front of the huge electrical panel. Electro grabs a huge power cable and rips it out of a panel. He then jumps onto the hood of your car and shocks the hell out of you. This effect is like riding a jackhammer, very well done. You spin out and come face to face with another of Doctor Octopus’s goons who slashes out at you. Making a narrow getaway your car is sent spinning down a gargantuan sewer pipe that whips you like a top. When you finally come to a stop Spidey is there waiting for you and says " So much for being careful, just get back to the Bugle and..." at that point he is interrupted by Hydro rising from the depths of a subterranean reservoir. Hydro ignores two punches from Spidey and reaches out at you. You can actually feel the wetness from this gigantic creature. He then hurls a giant pipe at you, that hits your car with a thud and sends you off spinning once again. You stop facing a brick wall. The bricks start to crack outwards (something is obviously trying to get to you). Soon the wall explodes outward coming right at you. They hit your car with a thud and make you duck. The huge hole in the brick wall reveals Doctor Octopus. He comes at you and one of his tentacles grabs the bumper of your scoop to stop you from retreating. Another tentacle produces fire and things really start to heat up (literally). Fortunately, your bumper breaks loose and Doctor Octopus is sent careening into the distance allowing you to escape. Your getaway is short lived though, Hob Goblin rides his flying machine right up into your face with a flaming pumpkin in his hand. "Trick or Treat, smell my feet, time to blow you up!" He hurls one pumpkin at you but Spidey spins out a web and catches it just before it hits you. Spidey hurls the pumpkin into the distance where it explodes against a far off building. Hob Goblin tries again and this time Spidey can’t catch it. The pumpkin misses your scoop and explodes against a wall right next to you (with a real explosion).

As you make yet another hair raising getaway your scoop accidentally slams into Spidey sending him flying. (This one really takes you by surprise.) Doctor Octopus is approaching in the distance, walking on his tentacles and overturning cars in his path. He fires his anti-gravity gun at Spidey and levitates the sign he is clinging to. Spidey jumps across the street to another building. Doctor Octopus hovers over your car and blasts you. This is where the ride gets even more amazing. You are levitated hundreds of feet into the air, where you are taken on a wild ride to the tops of the city buildings. (At this point you can’t tell what is up, what is down, what’s real and what’s 3D). You spin around and have a brief reunion with Hydro. A steam pipe bursts open sending you careening around right toward Doctor Octopus. As Doctor Octopus wishes you "Happy Landings" he blasts you with his anti-gravity gun. You start to plummet to the ground, crash into the top of a building and then continue your 400 ft plummet to the streets below. (This effect is absolutely amazing.) Just when you are about to crash into the street, Spidey spins a web acting as a net that catches you at the last second, whew!.  In the last scene Doctor Octopus’s gang is all wrapped up by Spideys web and Spidey thanks you for your help. You can see the Statue of Liberty being lifted back into place by helicopters in the distance.

Overall Description:
Spiderman, located in Marvel Island, is a motion simulator that moves on a track through live sets. Within the sets are large 3D screens that blend extremely well. It is very difficult to tell where reality ends and the 3D begins. This is combined with brief water and fire affects and sound effects to create total immersion.

Beginning of ride

JJJ: Hello? This is Jonah Jameson. Roger! Over! Is this thing on? Listen SCOOP, crime reports are comin' in from all over the city and I'm starting to get worried. (Spidey signal activates) Did you see that? The spider signal? With Spider-Man around, trouble can't be too far away. And you know what that means: Headlines, national coverage! So don't screw this up. Oh I mean umm...Good luck.

Scene 1

Spider-man: Man you shouldn't be out here. With Doc Ock on the loose this could be the most dangerous night of my life, and yours. Be careful! Nice shades.

J.J.J.: Was that Spider-man?! That no good red leotard-wearing....." (gets cut off)

Scene 2

Hob Goblin: Everything is going as planned.

Doc Ock: Excellent! And with my anti-gravity cannon, even Spider-man wont be able to stop me!

Hob Goblin: You mean stop us!

Doc Ock: Yes, of course.

J.J.J.: Hey! What's going on.

Electro: What was that?!

Scene 3

Electro: Intruders! If you think you're getting out of here, you're in for it. (Shocks car)

Scene 4

Doc Ock: Out of the way they're mine. (points gun at you)

Scene 5

Spider-man: So much for being careful. Just get back to the Bugle and...Uh oh! (Hydroman appears)

Hydroman: Ha Ha! (reaches over you as Spider-man punches him. He then knocks over a pipe)

Scene 6

Doc Ock: (makes a fireball) Don't leave now, things are just starting to heat up! (he falls over) Wa! Ah!

Scene 7

Hob Goblin: Trick or treat, smell my feet, time to blow you off the street! Ha Ha Ha!(throws bomb)

Spider-man: Look out!(pulls bomb away from you)

Hob Goblin: Spider-man! (gets ready to throw another bomb at you)

Spider-man: (jumps on glider) Oh no you don't! (goblin throws bomb which hits a support)

Scene 8

J.J.J.: SCOOP! My beautiful SCOOP!

Spider-man: That was close. (Doc Oc nearly hits spider-man with gun) Wa Whoa! Doc your aim is worse than your haircut.

Doc Ock: (pushes Spider-man away) Well, it's good enough for your sitting duck friends (blasts you with cannon)

Scene 9

SCOOP rises

Doc Ock: Have a nice trip!!

Spider-man: Hey wait for me! You're not insured for this!

Scene 10

Spider-man: Hang on I'm webbing you down from here! (goblin grabs Spider-man, car flies)

Scene 11
Electro: You punks have short circuited our plan long enough!

Hydroman: Your taking a dive! (reaches towards you as Spider-man jumps out of a window)

Spider-man: Guess again Super Goons.(Electro shocks Hydroman)

Scene 12

Doc Ock: Happy landing! (Spider-man jumps him and the car falls)

Spider-Man: (as car falls to ground) No!

Scene 13

Spider-man: Well I guess that wraps things up. Hey you did alright. (shoots web at Doc Ock)But don't give up your day job. Say cheese. See ya later!
