Disney 50th Anniversary Transformation

The Cinderella Castle located inside of the Magic Kingdom will receive a stunning revamp with a new crest and gold bunting. In addition, there will be pixie dust on top of Cinderella's castle, new touches for the Hollywood Studio's Hollywood Tower Hotel, fireflies in the Animal Kingdom's Tree of Life, and new lighting for Epcot's Spaceship Earth. The announcements about the Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary came from Disney Parks Blog. In addition, all of the four major theme parks in the Disney Resort will be completely transformed into something called "Beacons of Magic."

Celebration Teasers

In a recent Instagram post, Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley shared a few teasers about the latest upgrade in the permanent light system set to arrive in Epcot for the Disney world anniversary. The post describes that the lighting system will resemble shimmering stars in the sky and shine across the entire Spaceship Earth's silver panels. He also describes how Epcot symbolizes humanity's power to turn the impossible into reality and what imagination can really do.

Also, fans got to see a glimpse of the new outfits that Mickey and Minnie will wear in light of the Disney 50th anniversary celebration. The outfit can be described as a blue fabric with sparkly purple dots and gold trim.

As of 2021, the Disney resort has a total of four theme parks, a huge dining and shopping complex, two water parks, and too many hotels to count. However, when it first opened in 1971, there were only four attractions. These are Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, and Disney's Contemporary Resort. Since the beginning, the resort has become an iconic theme park for many to come to visit. In 2019, millions of guests showed up, and we can only imagine how the next 50 years should shape up.
